Sabine Pivoz

My whole life I have been exposed to foreign languages, cultures and the challenges that come along with it.

Born in Munich, Germany, from German parents, I grew up most of my life abroad. I lived in Argentina, Germany, Norway and Spain during my childhood, studied in the UK and Spain, and worked in France, Switzerland and the US.

I studied Communications and Sociology at the University of London, UK, and I earned an MBA from the IE Business School in Madrid, Spain.

During my over 15 years of work experience I have worked as a marketing & PR professional in various multinational companies and institutions. I have had the opportunity to work on many international projects with multi-national teams across different continents where I observed first hand the importance of languages and cultural understanding within the global economy.

In Geneva, Switzerland, I met my Argentinian husband where we are currently  raising our three children who are fully quadrilingual in English, German, French and Spanish.

Inspired by the excellent work on multilingualism by the educational researcher Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa, I have gained a strong interest on this topic and have been attending numerous seminars and discussion groups on foreign language acquisition. Moreover, being myself a parent of multilingual kids has given me first-hand experience.

In Miami I started giving workshops and consulting families on their language strategy, and I have continued doing this in Europe since I moved back from the US. Fluent in English, German, French, Spanish and Norwegian, I look forward to sharing my experience and expertise also with you.

"One language sets you in a corridor for life. Two languages open every door along the way."
